Every year, thousands of marginalized individuals across South Africa turn to the Legal Resources Centre (LRC) for crucial legal assistance. However, due to the overwhelming demand, many individuals are unable to receive the services they desperately need. For every person the LRC is able to help, there are even more who are left without representation.
In recent years, the demand for advocates has increased, with factors such as the pandemic exacerbating the need for legal support. Even before the pandemic, the LRC was experiencing a surge in demand for representation in critical areas like education and land rights. Without proper representation, marginalized communities face significant disadvantages in employment, economic empowerment, and the exercise of their fundamental rights.
You have the power to make a difference. By supporting LRC projects and programs through monthly or bimonthly giving, or a one-time donation, you can contribute to transforming lives in South Africa. You have the option to directly fund a project endowment or make a donation to the general ledger. Every donation you make to Friends of the LRC is tax-deductible in the U.S. and will go towards empowering the LRC to create positive change in South Africa.
